“Wind” is a lithograph included in Hockney’s renowned “Weather Series”. These works were inspired by 18th and 19th century Japanese woodcuts and were Hockney’s first major undertaking at the storied print workshop Gemini G.E.L. in 1973. Working closely with the master printers at Gemini, Hockney experimented with every possible variation on all aspects of the image, continuously redrawing and reproofing through various states.
